What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a way to receive audio or video files over the Internet by using feeds to deliver the audio broadcasts directly to your desktop. You can listen to the files on your computer or load them on your portable player like iPod and take them with you.

What do I need to hear podcasts?

Your computer should have a sound card and should be able to play MP3 audio files and mv4 video files. You will need podcast subscription software. Your options include the latest version of Apple's iTunes (which has the software built in), or other services such as Odeo or iPodder, to manage your podcast subscriptions. If you want to also make your podcasts portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable media device.
